Two days. One winter landscape. A world of snow, mist and tranquillity. In Ardennes Silence, the photographer takes you on an intense photographic journey through the winter Ardennes. A landscape where time seems to slow down and every sound is muffled by snow and frost. From the vast high plains of the High Fens, where frost marks the grasses and wisps of mist slowly dissolve, to the quiet power of the Lac de la Gileppe reservoir — each photo captures the essence of the moment.
The journey takes us through rugged nature, frozen paths and open plains where the horizon fades into white and grey. In the High Fens, sweeping vistas alternate with intimate details: ice crystals on branches, tracks in the snow and subtle winter light that shapes the landscape. The tri-border area in Vaals is also a symbolic stop, where borders converge in a calm, winter setting.
From the cool, diffuse morning light to the soft tones of a winter sun hanging low over the landscape, this collection shows the understated beauty of the Ardennes in its purest form. Years Favorites of 2025
One year. Hundreds of kilometers. Countless moments that beg to be captured — and exactly one hundred that made it into this selection. This series of photos is a visual journey through 2025, in which the photographer takes you past landscapes, animals, people, and architecture, showing you how multifaceted a year can be when viewed through a viewfinder.
From the last light gliding over the Sallandse Heuvelrug to the misty mornings at the Hierdense Beek; from the rugged Frisian mudflats to the vast beaches of Zeeland. The journey continues past striking locations such as the Port House in Antwerp, the deserted streets of Doel, and the green hills of North Rhine-Westphalia. Each visit, whether solo or with fellow photographers, brought its own atmosphere and stories.
In addition to grand landscapes and quiet moments in nature, this book features a colorful selection of macro photography — flowers opening in the morning light, mushrooms hidden among moss and leaves. Animals from wildlife parks, birds in full plumage, and portraits from the Archeon Museum Park, where past and present meet, are also part of this unique collection.
